Zinc with Zn as a chemical symbol can be identified by its bluish-silver color. With 419.53 as maximum melting point and 907 as boiling point, zinc metal finds use in many applications. The zinc ingots can be segregated into standard and jumbo ingots as well as by their grade, for instance special high grade, continuous galvanizing grade, high grade, etc.
Applications
Every year around 13 Million tonnes of zinc are produced throughout the world. Following is the segregation done based on the utility:
Galvanizing: Steel products are zinc coated in a galvanizing process to make them resistant against corrosion. The steel products that are galvanized are many, from steel furniture, buildings, automobiles to household appliances.
Zinc Oxide: Zinc oxide is a zinc compound that finds use in vulcanisation of a wide range of products, for instance paint, ceramics and rubber.
Die Castings: Zinc die cast alloy finds use in several electronic components, hardware fittings, electrical equipments, etc.
Alloys: Zinc and copper are used in making an alloy called brass.
Industries
The high strength, pure and highly malleable zinc ingots are used in several industrial sectors from chemical, rubber, automobile, battery to furniture.
